Perlka

Perlka, (Calcium Cyanamide), helps encourage a large population of useful soil bacteria, which research has shown helps to supress soil borne fungal diseases like CLUBROOT in brassicas, RHIZOCTONIA (Dead Root, Brown Patch) in potatoes and SCELEROTINIA in salads. Perlka (19.7% Nitrogen, 50% Calcium Oxide (CaO) 1.5% MgO), is known for its evenly balanced, long term nitrogen effect. The reason, unlike other nitrogen fertilizers it remains in a stable ammonium form for 6-8 weeks. This enables the plants to take up more ammonium and less nitrate. The advantages of this are:-

How To Use

Rake into the planting area a base dressing of 50g-100g of Perlka per Square Metre during January, February and March. This rate is ideal for most vegetable crops but you must allow 10 days between applying Perlka and sowing either seeds or transplanting.

Brassicas

Where Brassicas are in a Clubroot infected area, you should apply an additional top-dressing of Perlka at a rate of 50g per square metre 3 to 4 weeks after planting. Ensure that the soil is moist and the plants leaves are dry. Avoid direct contact with the foliage.
